BALTIMORE, MD (Thursday, March 14, 2024) – Today, Mayor Scott announced the winners of the Downtown RISE Wrap the Box Art Competition. The Arts and Culture component of the Downtown RISE action plan emphasizes the infusion of arts, culture, entertainment, and placemaking to revitalize the city. At the heart of this vision is the belief that Baltimore's creatives are not just participants, but leaders in the city's renaissance. With the right support, investment, and opportunities, they will help spearhead our collective resurgence.

This project is more than an aesthetic enhancement; it's a bold step towards reimagining our urban landscape as a canvas for creativity and innovation. By transforming electrical boxes along Pratt Street from Howard to Market Street into stunning works of art, we are not just lighting up the city; we're showcasing a cultural movement and the role artists and creatives play in Baltimore’s future.

This initiative is part of a series of immediate actions aimed at bolstering our commitment to the arts and cultural scene.

In alignment with this vision, we are thrilled to announce the finalists of the "Wrap the Box" art competition. Their designs were chosen to brighten up Pratt Street with their artistry, and installation of the designs will begin on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
